My suggestion would be to visit the browning site . 1st you should be able to find the date of manufacture and perhaps determine a model . 2nd you can download the manual .read it cover to cover .from there you should be able to disassemble the gun and diagnose the problem .Allow proper distance (eye relief) between a scope and your eye when firing a scoped rifle, shotgun or pistol.
